The “trend” of sobriety

The “trend” of sobriety

by Lisa Nixon | Jun 21, 2019 | body image, recovery, sobriety

Ok. So this has been a long time coming. What I have to say may make some people angry. It may give some people hope. It may bring some of us closer together. It may have some feeling further away – and that’s ok. First of all let me make something clear: only...

Sacred Recovery
Instagram post 17866103623556264 For anyone struggling with this whole “we are sacred” stuff - you are your own spiritual authority. Sacred is something that we are. You get to define what sacred means to you. You get to define how sacred feels to you. We don’t need anyone to explain the sacred to us. It is something we experience. Something we feel. Something we connect with through our own senses and spirit. ✨What is your definition of sacred?✨ 💕Lucy #wearesacred #sacredrecovery #spiritualgangster #wedorecover #recovery #addictionrecovery
Instagram post 17904721972389522 Being whole doesn’t mean ignoring our shadow. It doesn’t mean never making mistakes. It doesn’t mean being perfect. It means being WHOLE. Embracing all aspects of ourselves. To seek to know ourselves better. To integrate all of our experiences. To learn from them. We are constantly evolving - healing doesn’t happen in a linear fashion. It happens in a spiral. #sacredrecovery #wearesacred #healing #recoveryquotes

Instagram post 18085966441125363 An Ode to Self by our sweet and wonderful @storiiwild
Same dress every damn day
Got to cut my own hair,
Can you tell?
Selfies are hard and super awkward.
Sorry I'm not smiling with my teeth again, Mom.
My name is Störii & i like plants, like really really like plants. They are my best friends.
I have a couple of human children and can honestly say they are the coolest people I know. I really, really like them too.

Things are hard sometimes, but thats okay because I do pretty damn well living in the shadows. I am kind, I am wise & I am magic.

And this is my self love & beautifully awkward ode to self for the day. ♥♡♥ #sacredrecovery #wearesacred #odetoself #fridayfeels #healing #plantwitch #witchesofinstagram
Instagram post 18043677526207103 Can’t believe we are already talking about next year!! We have some workshops and other offerings to add (but we must wait a little longer to share the details with you....so tough!!) For those of you who have been asking our next ritual dates are:
2020 DATES : JANUARY 31, MAY 22, JULY 24
7:00PM-9:30PM

Roundhouse Farm - 1506 Burnside Road West, Victoria BC

Within these Sacred Recovery rituals our primary purpose is to offer a Reclaiming inspired path to recovery from addiction, self-destructive behaviours, trauma, grief, loss, and oppression. Our group recognizes and respects that there are multiple perspectives and approaches to recovery. We are gathered in the spirit of curiosity for the divine, acknowledging that we are our own spiritual authorities. We have come to know from our own experience that through ancient wisdom, honouring the sacred elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit, and practicing Earth-based spirituality, we can deepen our recovery.
We invite you to attend these rituals to investigate and practice the spiritual principles of Reclaiming to discover for yourself if it is valuable to your process of recovery. Intoxication or use of alcohol and drugs are not permitted. To maintain the safety of the group container anyone under the influence will be asked to leave the premises.
These rituals are recovery oriented and designed to be a spiritual resource for recovery. They are not a replacement for addiction treatment, psychiatric, or medical care. If you are unsure if this ritual is a fit for you, please contact us.

What to bring:
- Items to keep you comfortable (blanket, water)
- Journal or something to write in
- A pen or writing instrument - A small item you wish to charge on the community altar
- An open heart and mind

There are very comfy pillows and back supports provided at the venue!

Within each ritual we will utilize our spiritual technologies of grounding, creating sacred space, group participation, and closing the container, with a small grounding snack to follow. Tea and a bio break will also be provided.

Sliding scales available. Visit bit.ly/SacredRecoveryRituals for tickets and details. Blessed be, Lisa + Lucy
Instagram post 18010189396262303 This. Shame dies when stories are told in safe places. For many of us, this sense of safety is something we have been seeking our whole lives. We may have found this in an obsession to control people, places, and things. We may have arrived at a pseudo solution in mood altering chemicals that promised us as sense of safety outside of ourselves. This is why every time we host a recovery ritual or workshop we spend a great deal of time creating a sense of safety. With group agreements. With shared leadership. With words. With energy. With magic. With our nervous systems. With relentless support. With guidelines and principles. With authentic leadership and being open to share the wounded parts of ourselves so that we may model to others that being a flawed human is allowed, loved, and worthy of belonging. Creating safety takes time. It takes community. It takes love. #sacredrecovery #wearesacred #recoveryrituals #recovery #addictionrecovery #healingtrauma #wedorecover #sacredspace
